09/08/2007 - Season Opener Victory
After coming off two tournaments that found the '91 squad struggling, the team took the field focused and more importantly communicating better than they had during the past few weeks.
With more control in the midfield and active runs at TUSA's defense Team White was able to strike early with a goal from wing Alaria Sacco. With an early goal against them TUSA tightened up but were caught leaving unmarked players in the box during a Team White corner kick. After some missed attempts from Team White to settle the ball and TUSA's attempts to clear it Alaria Sacco found herself once again in possession of the ball with a clear lane to NET. With the score now 2 to 0 TUSA stepped up their attack and were able to score on an individual effort. As play continued TUSA gave a foul outside their own box towards the left side line. Wing Micah Khater was called on to take the kick and struck a ball that was on frame and out of reach for the TUSA keeper. The strike found the back of the goal and Team White was up 3 to 1.
The only real threat the remainder of the game came when Team White was called for a foul in their own box and TUSA was awarded a PK. Keeper Ashley Cole was on her toes and ready but found the shot to be high and off the top post.
The game was whistled to completion with Team White victorious 3 to 1 over TUSA.
